The missing jewels (A Whodunit)

THE MISSING JEWELS

This is a short whodunit (a detective story). Read the story and take a look at the drawing carefully to recognize the thief.



BETTY: She put the jewels on the table in the living room. She heard the phone ringing so she picked it up.  When she returned to the living room the jewels were gone. She screamed and everyone ran into the living room.
ANTONIO: He was taking a shower. Everyone heard the sound of water.  When Betty screamed, he ran into the living room.
MARCEL: He was in the kitchen preparing dinner.  When he heard Betty scream, he left the food and ran into the living room.
CINDY: She was sleeping in the bedroom. She didn't hear Betty scream so she just kept on sleeping.
LOUISE: She was in the library doing paperwork. When she heard the scream she came into the living room.
